Frequently Asked Questions

Honestly, maybe. It really depends on a number of variables but regardless… you’re in control of your care. I want to ensure your care is truly holistic and I can hold that medications or therapy are not what your treatment plan requires. We absolutely can meet to discuss what you’re going through, offer recommendations, and help you explore next steps—without any expectation to start meds or therapy before you feel comfortable.
-
Well first, we’re not assessing whether you work for me or whether you can tolerate certain medications or therapy modalities—but rather the other way around. Am I a good fit for you? What medications will work for you? What approach will support your goals?
To me, a good fit means you feel heard, respected, and supported. It means my style—collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in DBT and evidence-based care—aligns with what you’re looking for. It also means you feel comfortable asking questions, challenging me when you disagree, exploring options, and being honest about what’s working and what isn’t.
If you’re looking for someone who values transparency, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment, there’s a good chance we’ll be a strong match. But the most important part is how you feel. Our first meeting is designed to help you get a sense of my approach so you can decide if this is the right place for your care.

Private pay rates are $250 for initial assessments and $150 for follow-up sessions. I also have some sliding scale spots available based on need, so please ask or submit an inquiry on our home page!
If you’re using insurance, costs will vary depending on your specific plan and benefits. I am currently credentialed with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Ascension Smart Health, Quest Behavioral Health and Carelon Behavioral Health.
I will also be credentialed with Ambetter, United Health Care, and Optum in 2026, which may further expand in-network options and reduce out-of-pocket costs for many clients.
If you’d like help checking benefits or understanding expected costs before scheduling, I’m happy to assist.

Again, it depends. I’m licensed in Texas and Ohio, so if you live in either of those states, absolutely—I can see you. If you’re in Texas and local to the Austin area, I’d love to see you in our office space, but we also offer virtual sessions if you’re not! If you’re in Ohio, I offer virtual sessions only.
If you’re located outside of Texas or Ohio, I’m not able to provide care at this time due to licensing laws however I would be more than willing to chat as I am working on becoming licensed in other states!

A typical session at Psych’d ATX is collaborative, conversational, and centered around you. We’ll start by checking in on how you’ve been feeling, what’s been going on in your life, and any changes you’ve noticed in your symptoms, stress, or routines.
From there, we’ll talk through your goals, explore what’s working (and what isn’t), and decide together on next steps—whether that includes skill-building, medication adjustments, or simply support and clarification.
Sessions are structured but flexible: some days we dive into DBT skills, other days we focus more on medication management, and sometimes we just create space for whatever you’re carrying. The goal is always the same: to help you feel understood, supported, and equipped with a plan that fits your needs.

Definitely not a life contract. - I am just not ready for that level of commitment. It’s not you… it’s me. ;)
You can see me for as long—or as briefly—as it feels helpful for you.
Some people come in for a short period to get clarity, stabilize symptoms, or make a specific change. Others prefer ongoing support as they build skills, adjust medications, or navigate life transitions.
We’ll talk openly about your goals, check in regularly about what’s working, and adjust your plan as you grow. You’re always in control of your treatment, and you can pause or end care whenever you feel ready.
