Psych’d ATX

 Team

Hi! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor and Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I use a blend of therapy and medication management from a holistic, evidenced-based, and client-centered perspective. My goal is always to pair evidence-based care with genuine human connection — the kind that helps people feel safe, understood, and sometimes even able to laugh.

Before starting Psych’d ATX, I worked with multiple interdisciplinary teams across Austin, including inpatient, residential facilities, and out patient settings. I also taught at the University level, training nursing students in simulation labs, skills courses, and stress-management classes. All these roles have shaped my commitment to accessible, effective mental health care.

I’m also supervised daily by my three dachshunds: Wyatt Earp (Director of Security — though no one knows who appointed him), Ringo (our gentle, anxious sweetheart), and Doc (the wise office sage). They take their jobs very seriously, and they keep me humble.

At Psych’d ATX, Shana is supported by a uniquely talented trio of canine “professionals” who bring personality, comfort, and occasional chaos to the office.

Doc is the wise elder of the group — an old-soul sage who watches over everyone with quiet judgment and impeccable timing. He’s known for giving side-eye that can rival any seasoned therapist.

Wyatt serves as Psych’d ATX’s Director of Security — though no one is entirely sure who gave him that title. He takes his job very seriously, patrolling the office with confidence and the unwavering belief that snacks are a security necessity.

Ringo is our gorgeous, gentle soul. Despite his model-level beauty, he’s timid about… well, most things. Ringo dreams of being an emotional support dog, but between us, he might actually need an emotional support animal of his own. His sweetness and cautious charm make him a client favorite.

Together, Wyatt, Ringo, and Doc bring warmth, laughter, and character to Psych’d ATX. They remind us daily that healing can come in many forms — including wagging tails, suspicious stares, and the soft thud of a dog lying dramatically in the middle of the hallway.
